livery pricing inconsistency in the Irish market

Is there any structure to pricing livery in Ireland? From DIY to full board the difference between the 2 can be very little or massive. I see it vary from less than 10 euro per day to over 20 euro per day. I’m not sure what the top top yards cost.

As a provider I charge minimum of 70 for a pony and only do DIY as customers would expect 2 foot of shavings fresh everyday and skipped out 5 times a day. I avoid this by only doing DIY. I have turn out in a wreck field all year round a grass paddock over the summer months. I have an outdoor arena and a nice trek nearby. But with the price of hay, the trouble sourcing it, continued investment all the overheads including staff I wonder is there formula I should be using

We are full livery at €23 per day. We have a good setup with indoor, outdoor, gallop etc. That price includes hay (we grow our own) loose shaving which we buy in arctic loads, feed which again we buy in ton bags and the daily care.
We also do pre training & breaking which is more expensive than the flat livery and run a small riding school. The livery would definitely be the least profitable and it’s hard to juggle the price you would want to get with also keeping it affordable!
The livery side of the business for us is to keep us ticking over when it’s our quiet seasons with the pre trainers & breakers to be honest

We are a stud so don’t do livery, but I have heard many stories about low rates. I think this is people who are taking mainly cash – which is upsetting the good service and price that you need to charge to really provide a good service. I don’t think the people paying understand the difference as to the service level that is given when they pay more. Perhaps an educational campaign is needed across social media on this? I can’t understand how someone could do it for 10 euros a day (do it properly at least). It’s all fine until something happens. I am assuming those that hace low charges don’t have insurance as it would not be sustainable.

We charge €120 per week full livery.
Theres no vat on that which allows me to keep pricing down. Are livery yards generally vat registered?
