First Aid Response Refresher (FAR-R)

The First Aid Response Refresher (FAR-R) course is a comprehensive 2-day training program designed to update and enhance the skills of certified First Aid Responders. This course, replacing the former Occupational First Aid-Refresher (OFA-R) course, is recognized by the Health & Safety Authority of Ireland (HSA) and meets the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007.

Key Features:

• Duration: 2 days
• Recognition: Health & Safety Authority of Ireland (HSA) approved
• Location: Available at our Dublin premises and other locations across the country. In-house training options are also available.
• Certification: Participants receive a PHECC FAR certificate, valid for 2 years. A refresher course must be completed within this period to maintain certification.
• Class Size: Limited to 8 participants to ensure quality training and retention of practical skills.
• Prerequisites: Participants must hold a valid First Aid Response (FAR) certificate. Previous courses with St John Ambulance are not required.

Training Method:

Our instructors, who are all qualified FAR instructors with several years of practical first aid experience, deliver a mix of theoretical and practical sessions. This approach ensures participants can apply their newly acquired skills effectively.

Evaluation and Assessment:

Participants are evaluated through skills demonstrations and multiple-choice questions to ensure a comprehensive understanding and ability to perform first aid.

Course Locations:

• Dublin & Limerick:  These courses are booked directly with St Johns Ambulance, ideal if you only need to send 1 or 2 people.
• Onsite:  St Johns will be able to accommodate an onsite training session for this course should you have a minimum of 5 and max of 8 participants (can be from other venues) and a dedicated space that would be able to host indoors.
